Mohabbatein

The talk was given by a prominent personality for Kyuemians, Brother Shah Kirit bin Kakulal Govindji entitled Mohabbatein. In short, it was about how did his journey go on -the searching for truth in faith and how did he fall in LOVE with Islam.Frankly speaking, he said that he started thinking of the creator of the universe since he was 5. He had really sure that there must be someone who created the universe but, the answer was not found.When he grew up and entered primary school, He read about Prophet Abraham story with the idols.He then now more sure that he will not have anything to do with idols.He also kept asking whether god creates humans or humans create god? That question puzzled him for a long time. Until then, he got to fall in love with his colleague-a Malay girl(Muslim).For many years they were not married because of different religions.Within this period, he did ask many ustaz's about Islam. Miserably, they didn't make him closer to Islam but he was 'threatened' because they told him about so many responsibilities in Islam.When it came to a time, he then met an ustaz which reliably considered on answering what people ponder on Islamic matters. He told the ustaz about his love with a muslim girl and his interest to embrace Islam. But the ustaz asked him to learn about Islam first if he wants to become a Muslim by attending classes conducted by him for at least three months. Within that lessons he used to 'test' the ustaz by asking a question whic was "the concept of God in Islam" for he expected that the ustaz would not be able to answer that. Convincingly, the wise ustaz, in a reply to his question had lead him to look at Surah Al-Ikhlas chapter 112 verses 1-4. In that surah, the concept of God is clearly mentioned.
Which are God is one and only, God does not beget nor He is begotten(God does not have parents or children) and nothing is like unto Him. These concepts convinced him that the answer for his question when he was 5 had now been found. He is the creator of the universe. He was really convinced then to embrace Islam.Then, after hardly surviving on troubles, the marriage took place-between him and his love.This is the true love that he has found, mohabbatein which he reverts to the virtuous love.By loving God(and His teachings) he found the truth in his love with his beloved life partner(the wife).Yet he also urged that he embraced Islam not really because of the girl but the truth in Islam. He did mention that he didn't find any single contradiction in The Holy Quran which also brought him to become closer to Islam.
His advices are:

• There is no comparison in loving God eg. we love Him hundred times more than we love humans. So we should infinitely love ALLAH.
• If you love someone, make sure that you only do things that Allah likes so, you'll not love him/her 'membuta tuli' by doing what Allah prohibits

• Be more reasonable if you love someone from other races- respect the cultures and 'jaga hati' his/her family

May Allah grant us His love for that we will love Him, the Virtuous Love that leads us to love each other rightfully
